Inside the museum, beyond the ordinary
The Pompeii Children’s Museum was developed from a simple idea: to make culture accessible, vibrant, and participatory from early childhood.
We are an educational museum in Pompeii designed to stimulate children’s curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity through play, art, and science.
We believe that every visit can become a meaningful and lasting experience.
A museum designed for children
Not a museum to tiptoe through in silence, but a space to explore with all five senses.
The Pompeii Children’s Museum is an interactive museum for children, where learning is active, shared, and fun.
Each activity is thoughtfully designed to engage young visitors aged 6 to 11, with tailored experiences based on age and diverse learning styles.
Every day, we work to build a space where every child can feel welcomed, represented, and valued.
Our team
We are communicators, archaeologists, art historians, artists, and childhood culture enthusiasts.
We are people who believe in the power of cultural education.
Behind every workshop, guided tour or installation lies an educational project carefully crafted down to the smallest detail.
We collaborate with public and private institutions, schools, universities and artistic organisations to offer an experience that is always fresh, stimulating, and inclusive.

Gruppo Pleiadi has been operating for years in the world of children and young people. Its philosophy centres on cultivating curiosity, the need to experiment, and the joy of learning by doing. It designed and currently manages the Children’s Museum of Verona and collaborates with the leading children’s museums in Italy and beyond.
The cooperative brings together highly trained and qualified professionals in science and culture, all dedicated to education and science communication in its many forms.
Pleiadi specialises in developing creative and interactive content related to STEAM disciplines, with the aim of engaging both children and adults in these fields.
Its mission is to nurture future generations who are curious and passionate about the world around them—creative and aware citizens of tomorrow.
This mission is fulfilled through:
- educational projects aimed at school audiences and the general public, with particular attention to inclusion, gender equality, and the prevention of school drop-out;
- the organisation of cultural and scientific events, festivals, awards, and initiatives;
- the management of museums and educational programmes (currently active at: Children’s Museum Verona, MU-CH Chemistry Museum, Natural History Museum of Milan, Botanical Garden of Padua, Children’s Museum of Pompeii, Flight Museum of Due Carrare).
Pleiadi is part of the European networks of science museums Ecsite and Hands On! International, and is the promoter of the Italian Network of Children's Museums. Since its foundation, Pleiadi has gained extensive experience in designing and managing educational paths and workshop activities in a wide range of settings - from schools to public squares, libraries to large-scale events-, gradually specialising in the museology sector.
At the heart of Pleiadi’s method lies interactivity and the development of techniques that translate scientific concepts into everyday language. Its educational approach draws on the Galilean method for its scientific foundations, while also taking strong inspiration from the Montessori method in pedagogy, and from Bruno Munari in design and aesthetics.
Pleiadi promotes a hands-on educational philosophy that emphasises experiential and practical learning through direct participation. This means offering real, tangible experiences that allow learners to engage directly with materials and actively interact with them.
The approach is as inclusive as possible, both linguistically and in terms of diverse abilities, ensuring that no one is left behind. It is also deeply memorable, as active involvement fosters stronger and longer-lasting connections in the memory of each participant.

LE NUVOLE - Consorzio Aion is a non-profit organisation that, since 1985, has been passing on a passion for creativity and beauty to generations of children and young people. It designs and delivers experimental initiatives in the fields of art, science and theatre.
In 1985, it transformed an abandoned amusement park into a permanent theatre space - the first venue in Italy entirely dedicated to childhood. In 1994, it contributed to the creation of the Science Museum of Bagnoli, repurposing a former industrial site into a science centre. In 2017, it was involved in urban regeneration projects aimed at restoring architecturally significant buildings in Naples.
Over the years, Le Nuvole has established numerous partnerships and collaborations with prestigious institutions and has received both national and international recognition. It has managed educational services in many of Campania region’s most important museums, including the Museo di Capodimonte, the Archaeological Parks of Paestum and Velia, and the Archaeological Circuit of Ancient Capua.
It currently oversees the educational programmes at Città della Scienza and coordinates learning activities at 25 cultural sites across the city of Naples, commissioned by the local council. Le Nuvole also manages tourism services for the Vesuvius National Park and participates in international networks and teacher training programmes across all school levels - programmes officially recognised by Italy’s Ministry of Education.
Le Nuvole played a key role in restoring the Teatro dei Piccoli, bringing it back to life after more than 70 years of abandonment. Since 2014, it has been a leading partner in a public-private consortium at the Mostra d’Oltremare, organising a steady annual programme of over 150 performances attended by more than 70,000 spectators.
The cultural initiatives of Le Nuvole are deeply intertwined with its social mission. In 2019, it joined the national project Affido Culturale, aimed at tackling cultural deprivation among children living in conditions of social vulnerability.

ARTEM - Consorzio Aion was established in 1980 as a publishing and service company, organised into three operational divisions:
- Content design and development: including scientific publishing and cultural outreach in both print and digital formats; coordinated image and design thinking; promotion and communication; multimedia exhibitions and installations; and the creation of localised cultural and tourism portals.
- Visitor orientation and assistance services: such as ticketing, information and reception desks, mobile apps, guided tours, and educational workshops.
- Proximity shops and smart retail: managing bookshops, concept and lab stores, cafés and local food tastings, and site-specific cultural activation.
Together with its partners in the Aion consortium, ARTEM currently manages essential enhancement services at several major Italian cultural heritage sites, including the archaeological parks of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, Velia, and Santa Maria Capua Vetere; the National Archaeological Museum in Naples; the Certosa di San Lorenzo and municipal museums in Padula; the Borghese Gallery in Rome; and the Gallery of Modern Art in Milan.
In 2021, ARTEM launched a corporate spin-off, artem 4.5, a ‘digitally native’ start-up dedicated to promoting open innovation, the digital agenda, and the green deal. The initiative aims to drive an agile digital transformation rooted in objective-driven strategies and continuous adaptation - while remaining firmly anchored in content craftsmanship and the selective, narrative expertise of its original publishing house identity.
