The Pompeii Children’s Museum is designed for everyone.

Inclusion, participation and strong local roots are the foundations of every educational activity, space and experience we create.

We believe every child – regardless of their circumstances – has the right to access culture and see themselves reflected in it.

A Truly Accessible Museum

Inclusion is not an afterthought, but a guiding principle.

This is why we designed a museum that is accessible on multiple levels:

  • Physical accessibility: barrier-free spaces, user-friendly paths, and safe environments for all children.
  • Cognitive and sensory accessibility: activities designed for different learning styles, simplified language, and visual, tactile and multimedia supports.
  • Economic accessibility: reduced rates for families, schools and groups, with special attention to more vulnerable contexts.

We work closely with specialised educators, families and associations to ensure a rich and rewarding experience for every visitor.

Deeply Rooted Locally, Open to the World

The museum is in constant dialogue with Pompeii and its surroundings.

We develop collaborative projects with schools, local authorities, libraries, social cooperatives, early childhood centres, and cultural organisations across Campania.

Each workshop, exhibition or event is designed to meet the real needs of the local community, and to celebrate its stories, traditions, places and talents.

Being in Pompeii means this too: combining the uniqueness of an archaeological heritage with a contemporary, educational and inclusive vision.
